Nineteen of Medvedev's 21 victories have been won on hard surfaces
A resurgent Daniil Medvedev won his first title for nearly 30 months with success over opponent Moutet in the Almaty Open championship match.
The Russian, a former world number one, has endured a challenging period, achieving just one win at the major tournaments and suffering a setback at the American major.
His inconsistency on the ATP Tour - and difficulties with his service game in specific - led to him exiting of the world's top 10 and finally splitting with former trainer Gilles Cervara.
Currently training with Johansson and Goetzke, Medvedev has gradually improved in the last few weeks - culminating in a tightly fought competitive win over opponent Moutet.
This represents his first championship after the 2023 Rome Masters and initial on a hard court since March of the previous year.
The win also indicates he has secured twenty-one championships at 21 various tournaments.
"It's the first time I have attended a competition with my two daughters together, so to win a trophy is really nice," stated ranked player Daniil Medvedev.
"This victory is in tribute of my second daughter Victoria, because the maiden victory I won when my first daughter Alisa was delivered was for her."
The tennis star, the 2021 US Open champion, had been defeated in his previous six championship matches, featuring in Halle in the past months.
The player's retrieving strategy and frequent reactions on court had led some to wonder if his capacity to perform at the highest level was finished.
Yet the athlete has made changes in the past month, making an effort to come to the net and compete assertively, supported by an improved serve.
The champion came back from a deficit in the opening set against the tricky opponent, securing 4 of the final five points to gain the advantage.
The competitors swapped service breaks in the second set before the Frenchman, bidding for his initial professional title, took control to force a final set.
He defended 4 early chances in a competitive third set before the champion secured a break to fifteen to close out the victory.
Suitably, the winner earned the win with a rally at the net area, with Moutet failing to manage a shot after a lengthy match.
