I'll dominate 'serious combatant' Jake Paul - Anthony Joshua

Anthony Joshua and Jake Paul face-off

Anthony Joshua prepares to battle Jake Paul in an eight round contest which will be broadcast live on the streaming platform.

Briton Anthony Joshua said he will "dominate completely" the American and "defeat" his opponent as the combatants met personally to publicize next month's boxing match.

Former twice unified boxing king Joshua battles YouTuber-turned-boxer Paul - in what is, by the numbers, a massive mismatch - at Miami's arena on December 19th.

Fighter's Mindset

"I will injure his face and hurt his body. My goal is to show I'm the better fighter," the British boxer, 35, stated.

"I'll stamp all over him. That's a fighter's mentality.

"I'm going to really want to hurt him. That's my goal."

Civil Exchange

In spite of those words, a relaxed Joshua and social media star Paul - normally famous for his dramatics - exchanged pleasantries and kept it respectful with each other.

Paul instead targeted former Joshua's rival the Cameroonian fighter and described him as "not serious" after Ngannou rejected a match opportunity.

Targeting Fury

Anthony Joshua, at the same time, took aim at UK opponent Fury - and refused a million-pound wager 'Tyson Fury' says he will place on a victory for Paul.

"Jake Paul outshines Tyson Fury - he's present here," the boxer commented.

"I acknowledge that."

Legitimate Fighter

In spite of saying he intends to damage his opponent, Joshua chose not to talk badly about his rival's pugilistic talent.

"Jake Paul is a legitimate boxer," he stated.

Jake Paul's History

Paul - who first rose to fame on the Disney Channel - has mainly fought MMA fighters or declining opponents since entering professional boxing.

He was defeated by British fighter Tommy Fury in 2023.

Financial Success

However, the relative newcomer continues to be one of the sport's greatest commercial attractions, consistently making massive earnings.

Prediction and Confidence

The 28-year-old forecast a knockout win in round four or five and asserted he would prevent the much-anticipated Joshua–Fury fight, which is reportedly under discussion for two years from now.

"It's going to be me versus Tyson Fury next year," Paul said.

Size Disparity

As Joshua and Paul met for the usual confrontation, with their physical disparity on show, it emphasized just how improbable this whole event is - and how remarkable it is that the fight is really happening.
