An additional two individuals have been arrested in connection with a theft at Heathrow Airport in which over twenty individuals sustained injuries by what is thought to be an irritant spray, as stated by law enforcement.
A man, 24, was taken into custody in Lambeth for suspected theft and assault and a 23-year-old woman was arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to commit robbery. Both individuals are still being held, the force said.
These detentions come after an investigation into an attack at the multi-storey car park at Heathrow's Terminal 3 on Sunday. Prior to the incident, two women were robbed of their luggage after getting out of a parking garage elevator.
A three-year-old girl was among the those hurt in the event. Five people were taken to the hospital for treatment and were later discharged.
Police detained a 31-year-old man on suspicion of theft and assault close to the scene. He has since been released pending further inquiries while inquiries continue.
Authorities were called at about 8:10 in the morning GMT after reports came in regarding a number of individuals injured by an irritating chemical believed to be pepper spray.
The assault - which authorities stated was a standalone incident and not being treated as terrorism - resulted in delays to rail services and the temporary shutdown of the main airport tunnel and the T3 parking facility briefly.
