Authorities stated they were alerted by a man who found a car in Hanau covered with reddish fluid

Around fifty vehicles have been covered with what seems to be human bodily fluid in the Germany's municipality of Hanau close to Frankfurt, as reported by law enforcement.

Automobiles, walls and postal boxes were marked, occasionally with swastikas, they stated in a official communication.

Officers say they were alerted during the night on Wednesday, when a individual observed that a automobile in the Lamboy district of Hanau had been marked with a reddish-hued substance.

The substance had been drawn in the shape of a banned symbol, they stated.

Police then located multiple other smeared automobiles and house walls in the nearby vicinity.

These symbols are prohibited in Germany under regulations banning the public exhibition of symbols from the Nazi era.

Law enforcement report initial examinations suggest the liquid was likely blood from a person.

"Currently there is no lead as to where it came from; officials are currently not aware of any harm in connection with the occurrence," they commented.

City officials announced they were attempting "to resolve the incident" and have requested to the community for details.

A high-ranking representative stated the incident made him without words and needed to be resolved promptly.

"This act strikes at the core of Hanau and reawakens the wounds of the far-right attack in 2020," he stated on online, mentioning the murder of nine individuals by a assailant aiming at people of foreign heritage in February 2020.
